Getting to Know the Arts Society

Aimed at new or potential committee members (although experienced ones are more than welcome) this day gives some background to The Arts Society, its history and how it works plus covering the resources available to help with committee roles and basic Society administration.

Society Chair's Forum

This day is designed for both new and experienced Chairs to come together and share ideas, challenges and their solutions with one another.  The agenda of this informal day is suggested by participants and offers plenty of opportunity to discuss the realities of being Chair.  Whether one has been newly appointed or in the role for some time all Chairs are welcome to this insightful and useful open forum.

Membership Recruitment & Retention

This workshop is invaluable to any Society with concerns about membership numbers. Taking participants on the ‘membership journey’ the day deals with the basics of marketing and promoting your Society, dealing with new members and maintaining member loyalty.

Tuesday, March 26, 2019 to Wednesday, March 27, 2019

Spreadsheets for Beginners

The course will be tailored to suit the participants prior knowledge. Spreadsheets are so useful not only for treasurers, but for committee members running trips and tours, creating budgets and updating them. They are also very useful for membership secretaries as your membership lists can be downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet. The course will be limited to 6 to make it as user friendly as possible.

Confident Speaking

The prospect of speaking in public can hold terrors for anyone.  We help you build up skills, confidence and effectiveness when addressing an audience. These days are fun and informal and as group sizes are kept small everyone gets the opportunity to participate fully. NB: No recording involved!

MailChimp Forum

For those who have attended the MailChimp for Beginners course, this Forum is designed for more advanced users of MailChimp.  The agenda of this informal day is suggested by participants and offers the opportunity to further utilise this free service to communication with your members in an effective and professional way.

Lead by The Arts Society's Finance Director, this is a day of stimulating discussion on financial issues for Treasurers, including legal updates and guidance.  It offers particularly useful insight to anyone considering taking on the Treasurer role.
